Hi there, I have a light bar from a fire truck; it has 4 lights with 4 little motors. It runs fine off a car battery; it draws 12 amps & about 8 volts. I want to be able to plug it in to a wall outlet.
I bought a converter that converts 110v to 12v with 25amp output. On this converter it has a dial that can go only from 9v to 15v. When I hook the light bar to it turns off, maybe because of the built-in protection device, I think because it won’t supply less than 9v. Not sure what I can do now. Can I maybe add something to the light to make the voltage more than 9v or something else I can do?

I have a question to ask you. I checked my friend’s house electrical receptacles outlets on the main floor I use plug in tester for G.F.C.I. and normal outlets and also tried Sure Test Circuit Analyzer. This house was built about 54 years ago. Anyhow, I checked seven outlets on main floor and my reading read ” open ground” on a three pronged electric receptacles.
Is this a safety hazard due to the risk of shock?
